Killing a process when kill -9 doesn't work?

I found what the problem was!!!
Buried way down in a folder that has nothing to do with RPM's or the package
I was installing was a stale NFS mount. Matt nailed it right off. I have
since removed the old NFS servers mount from fstab and hope to never have
this problem again.
