OT: Win2k3 + IIS + MSSQL + PHP setup help

I'm hoping there's a windows hosting guru on this list. I have a client who
has a codebase running on a virtual host that runs: IIS + MSSQL + PHP

He wants this moved to a dedicated Windows box. He's asked me to get PHP
installed. I've read through and tried many combinations of suggestions from
PHP.net's site. I cannot establish a DB connection to MSSQL server.

Anyone out there that has this process nailed and would give me some advice?

P.S. Yes, I did recommend they migrate to LAMP. They obviously said no.
