upgrading to fiesty

I upgraded a machine and installed a very similar machine fresh.  I'm
fairly confident I did something wrong with the upgrade, and I was
still able to make it work with a little effort.  (Well inside of an
hour.)  Both machines have nVidia cards in them and the upgraded
machine had working 3d acceleration immediately after the upgrade.  On
the freshly installed machine I had to go in and install the driver,
which was as easy as ever on *buntu.  I'm quite pleased with both
experiences.
