find / -name rc.local didn't return anything. I think this is another way.
$ sudo updatedb
$ sudo locate rc.local
$ sudo locate rc.shutdown
the 'locate' commands returned a blank line. Could they be called something
else?
p.s. I restarted the computer, ran alsaconf, and sound again works.
alsactl store was issued next and that replied with a blank line
