Linus on GPLv2

Is Linus really trying to stop the GPLv3 from being used? My take
was that he just doesn't want to use it with the kernel, preferring
instead the GPLv2 which he thinks is perfect as it is. Outside of its
usefulness as a possible license for the kernel I don't think he really
cares about the existence of the GPLv3.
