Server install tips?

Ubuntu offers 'plug and play' like install for LAMP

I've never used it, but Ubuntu is a well organized group of people, so I
would give that a roll before you delve into HD partitions, etc. If KDE is
a show-stopper, it is possible to install KDE desktop on Ubuntu.
Either way, [k]Ubuntu is by far the best distro I have ever used(
including RH ).
