I forgot to mention that the mepis that I currently have running is 2003 <?> <the last one before they moved to Simply Mepis>. I tried putting Mepis 3.4.3 on but I couldn't get it working correctly.

My question to ya all is which would be the best system considering the age of this box (97) for office apps and internet activity? I would love to learn more but don't really see the point of it at the moment. Currently I am out of work so as usual I would like to spend as little as possible in getting it going. I do love debian so perhaps genuine debian instead of the 'mini' debian (knoppix, ubuntu, mepis, any of the others).
