Kinda related to this thread...
We currently use a Virtual Linux Server (Usermode Linux) on a pretty
beefy machine. We run mail, apps, web on it and it has performed pretty
well. $330/year -- $40/month.
The downside is I have no physical access and some kernel functionality
is limited/unavailable (like the RT clock, which is 2 minutes off).
Upside is I can "power cycle" it via a web page in case it really gets
hung up. Works just like any other Linux server without the console.
