Sony's PS3 with 60gb HDD and Linux

I thought this was really interesting, Sony has announced they will support
Linux on their Playstation3 with an attachable 60gb hard drive.  Source:

I still own the original Linux kit for the Playstation2, but using MIPS and
have such little system memory made it really hard to do anything except
miniature game demos.  It'll be interesting to see what kind of
functionality the PS3 will have, especially since the machine was created
ideally to be the main living room entertainment piece.
