OK - I got a lot further now and I'm still working on it...

dummy me needed to do svn checkout ssh+craigssh://...

after I connect though, I get an error...

sh: line 1: svnserve: command not found
svn: Connection closed unexpectedly

which is odd since 'which svnserve' returns '/usr/bin/svnserve'

but I am making progress now
