Funny you should mention that...the new HP computers I just bought with
Windows XP Media Center Edition has a neat program in the control panel
that will automatically upgrade all applications installed with
InstallShield. Looks like it's coming.
I cringe to try to upgrade (apt-get update; apt-get upgrade) even a
Linux machine in this fashion as I seriously broke my main workstation
in the middle of a major project. Took several hours to fix it, so now
this horrific task will get done only when I have no projects, which is,
well, hardly ever :)
