Uncovered Position, NOT Subject to Arizona State Merit System Rules

FULL TIME TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT, EXPECTED TO LAST THROUGH JULY 2006.

Description of Duties:  Develop and coordinate the construction of the
mitigation website.  Develop and create mitigation outreach and
educational materials. Conduct research for emergency management projects.
Complete related training courses. Participate in division disaster
exercises in the agency. Participate in the CRT program and provide
assistance in emergencies and declared disasters.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Knowledge of natural- and human-caused
hazards, hazard mitigation, and emergency management.  Knowledge of
computer word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software and the
internet for research purposes.  Creative website design and educational
development knowledge.  Effective verbal and written communication skills
and interpersonal and organizational skills.  Ability to analyze,
prioritize and resolve problems; ability to coordinate multiple projects
simultaneously; ability to operate a personal  computer; ability to
effectively communicate with others and interrelate with people; ability
to prepare a variety of complex documents, and coordinate activities with
vendors, agencies and individuals.  Ability to work constructively in a
team and independently.

Desired Qualifications:  Any combination of education, training and
experience that meets the knowledge, skills and abilities described.
Experience in website and education material development and background in
emergency management is preferred.
