system adm using cvs

Has anyone administered a system using cvs?  i.e. all config files are 
checked into cvs and re-checked in when a changes is made.  Config files 
being, for example, /etc/hosts, httpd.conf, sendmail.cf, etc.

Anyone have any thoughts pro/con to this?  The google, she overwhelms me.
