Hi,

I have some experience here, (over 30 years). As long as you have enough
wire to do what you want, use the stuff from the box that is undamaged.
That way there should be no questions.

When you terminate the wire at the jack, untwist the conductors 1/2 inch or
less and slide/push the outer jacket as close to the jack as you can. This
is to try and do away with NEXT, (Near End Cross Talk), which is simply the
bleed/induction of noise from one conductor to another. Yes, this is a pain
in the backside to do.

The most important part of the installation, particularly because it's
inside your home, is to make sure the outer jacket is plenum rated. If it
says CMP on it, you should be okay. Read the jacket. This is a fire code
thing. Plenum rated jacketing gives off less toxic fumes when it burns,
ergo you and your family have more time to get out in case the need arises.
If you live in Scottsdale, it's the law, but in any case, it's just a good
idea.

Please ask if you have more questions.
