configuring cisco catalyst 4500

Some people have asked for more info on the cisco switch.  Here it is.

The password recovery isn't the problem.  as far as we can tell we can
get into the switch to do anything we need.  The problem seems to be
that we can't get it out of the current configuration even though we
have tried to reset it to factory defaults with various commands and guides.

No matter what we do the show run command still shows the old
configuration.  and as I said before the switch just wont let systems
communicate (bc it's misconfigured.)
