there's tuxkart and supertuxkart, but they're kind of buggy.
If you have Adept, search for a package called "childsplay." It is an education game suite for kids.

What children's games are available for GNU/Linux and work for kids? I'm

But, there's also the reality that kids are subject to marketing in the
.us. What branded and/or commercial games work somehow on GNU/Linux? Do
they need wine/cedega/crossover to work?
[0] Maybe specify an age range you think appropriate for the game. I'm
certain there's a developmental range difference between tuxpaint and
kanagram.
