Thanks for your interest, help, and follow-up, Mike. 

Today, I got some backups made, bought a 100-Gig Maxtor HD 
(refurbished for $47 at Fry's), and got it installed in the 
box, but not formatted yet.  I'll be back at it tomorrow.
