David Huerta (founder and President of the DeVry Linux Users Group) will be
presenting a basic primer on the PHP programming language, in comparison to
other web application languages, and will discuss some of the useful
pre-built applications that have been built with it.

PHP <http://www.php.net/> is a widely-used general-purpose scripting
language that is especially suited for Web development and can be embedded
into HTML. If you want to get some idea of how it works, try the
introductory tutorial <http://us2.php.net/tut.php>. Or, check out the online
manual <http://www.php.net/docs.php>, and the example archive sites and some
of the other resources available in the links section.

Also, checkout PHP's unparallel growth in popularity since Jan 2000
<http://www.php.net/usage.php>.
