evo: an organizer must be set

I've been getting 'An organizer must be set.' when trying to accept
meetings.

I'm using evolution 2.2.1.1 on Ubuntu to talk to an m$ eXpunge server.

I notice that 'An unknown person requests your presence at the following
meeting:' is how the mtg rqst comes in.

googling for '"An organizer must be set" evolution' turns up lots of
tranlation files and a post saying it's talking about a chairperson.

googling for 'evolution "An unknown person requests your presence"' brings
up no results.

The item gets added to my calendar, but it appears that a response isn't
sent to the person requesting the meeting.

Any ideas what's wrong and/or how to fix it?
