wireless bridge

Guys,
Really stupid question and I need a straight forward answer.
Can a wireless 802.11 access point act as a bridge to connect to an
existing 802.11 access point?
The selection of dedicated wireless bridges is thin, and I was just
curious if it was something that an access point can do.
(I have a basic Linksys RTP300 VoIP router for vonage, looking to hook
a bridge to it and move the phone to the living room)

To exercise power costs effort and demands courage. That is why so
many fail to assert rights to which they are perfectly entitled -
because a right is a kind of power but they are too lazy or too
cowardly to exercise it. The virtues which cloak these faults are
called patience and forbearance.
