I believe you are talking about the SCA interface (80 pin). 80 pin drives
are primarily used in hot-swap situations. You can buy an adapter to
convert a SCA drive for use on a standard 68 pin interface.

I see lots of drives out there that need 80 pin connectors, but most of
the controller cards I see are 68 pin. Is there some sort of converter?
