X11 hell -> Writing to drive using knoppix

For all of my X11 hell I just recaled that I had a knoppix iso hidden 
somewhere on my XP system...

So I burnt a copy but it is not letting me write to my disk (though it 
will display it)...
(hmm... I wonder if since x is working in knoppix I could just copy the 
config file...)

Anyone?
