mysql vs. postgresql

There was a time when I would say. MySQL for speed PostgreSQL for
transactions, stored procedures etc.... Today with just a little
fiddling you can get PostgreSQL to run almost as fast as mysql and by
changing the tables of mySQL you can get it to be almost as "standard"
as PostgreSQL. That said if you want to put a Mozilla interface on an
application right now it's *much* easier to use PostgreSQL. I still tend
to use mySQL for php apps but that's mostly just because its what I'm
used to.
