I write everything on my laptop, but when I compile it, I often compile and=
=20
install it in a virtual machine so it doesn't change anything on my laptop,=
=20
until I am happy it works the way I want it to.=20
But, I want to know what speed everything is working at in the virtual=20
machine.
My development box is a piii 933, but what is the actual speed of the=20
processor inside the vm? is it still 933? Or is it slower because everythin=
g=20
is emulated? Things seem to take twice as long in the VM than physically on=
=20
the same machine. The machine has 256 ram, and the vm is using 128... would=
=20
that make that much of a difference?
Does anyone know any tools to test the cpu speed?
