Where oh Where is the Router Addressing

RH 8.0 to computer network (1 server and one thinclient)

Did a netconfig from root (on the server) to set the ethernet card stuff

set IP address to 192.168.100.66  (the server)
set netmask to 255.255.255.0
Left default gateway (IP) empty
Left the Primary nameserver empty

re-booted the server

Then booted the thinclient.
The thinclient claimed to be using GateWay 10.1.1.26 which was correct
before I moved the computer off that network.

Anyone have an idea where this address is comming from and/or how to fix
it???
