removing a group

I added a user (as you all know) but everytime I start up it tells me tha=

have no home directory. I think to myself that I just Have to go remove a=
nd=20
then add my new user (download)  and everything will be fine.... I wish i=
t=20
were that simple. I remove it and then attempt to add it but the maCHINE=20
WON'T  let me. It says that I have a group with to similar of a name. I l=
ook=20
in my groups listing and there is a group called 'downloads' which I adde=
d a=20
few weeks ago. How do I remove it?
