Another install hint

Hello again:

Another problem I've been bugging the group about was trying to get a new 
(2.4 kernel) version of linux installed on a Compaq presario laptop.  I 
finally found the solution on the web courtesy of a Thai fellow named 
Thaweesak Buaratcharoen.    A web search revealed  lots of different Linux 
install instructions for Presarios, but only this one worked.

For the Mandrake 9.1 install, the switches were: 'alt0 nousb nomce noauto'. 

I'm not even sure what the "nomce" does, but hey, it works, kind of like 
"Wingardium leviosa" in a Harry Potter movie.

There were similar switches on other distros.   As has been said many times 
in this group "Google is our friend."
