Nope. Kaffe and such don't cut it. No biggie. Plenty of other things
available. Derek gave some helpful feedback :).
BTW, it's not that I hate Java. It's always been a bit slow and buggy (both
things that releasing it under the GPL could fix), but it's my favorite
language to code. I just won't do it until Sun does the right thing. They'v=

borked it up so long that releasing to a standards committee and getting ou=
t
of the way is now the only way for them to do the right thing.

That's OK. If someone gets really obnoxious, then the channel ops can kick
them. At the same time, the ops have to be tolerant. It's the same as at
Bandersnatch or elsewhere in life.
irc is actually pretty great in that sub-rooms can pop up on the fly if
people are interested in something specific. I don't want set topics, but i=
f
something should just naturally be of interest during a Stammtisch, well,
that's why I created it :).
Also, since we have a good DSL feed at Bandersnatch, people there would be
able to also attend the virtual Stammtisch.

Yeah, it's not hard to join a channel that doesn't exist :).
Derek's suggestion with MagicPoint is great. Presentations could also be
done with html, though.
