I bet if you asked around, someone on this list could point out that the 
Post-It note is not necessary and that any chocolate cereal will do (not 
just the name brand stuff).

On a more serious note, I would not recommend hardware that is too old for 
the Linux newbie (lest someone get the wrong impression).  I was helping 
people at the Installfest who owned technology like ISA and VLB, and it 
really isn't worth the trouble.
