Maybe a better question is: What are the arguments for newsgroups? ;)

I think there are plenty of mail2news type gateways that exist that
minimal effort woudl be needed to make seemless that this mailing list
would also be available via newsgroup.  Its not an interest of mine or I
would offer to set it up.
