I would give it a shot.  Worst case scenario is that he simply shrugs PLUG
off.  Having some level of political backingcould easily work in favor of
open source.  That politician would love to be known for cutting IT costs
for the state by using open source solutions.

A friend says he would be open to meeting with PLUG, but it would need to be
before the election, which is the 10th of September. I note he will be
speaking at the Scottsdale Mustang Library on Wednesday, September 4th.
