I have 2 kernels now. How do I get rid of 1 in GRUB.

Unless seeing the old kernel in the boot list really bothers you, you
could just leave it.  Just boot into the newer (2.4.18-17.7.x) kernel.
Or, remove the reference to the old kernel in /etc/grub.conf (the old
kernel will still remain on your computer, unless you delete it from
/boot, although there's no reason to delete it).
