Is ATI's RADEON 8500 LE on Redhat's compatibility list?

There is no way that could be true with the performance that they are
getting out of the card.  Quite simply, your processor isn't fast
enough.  They probably have chosen a 'unique' register map that doesn't
map similarly to other cards.  Here are the XF86 drivers off of the ATI
website.  I have not used them,
