mcpan is a Perl module that allows you to download additional Perl
modules from CPAN (comprehensive perl archive network).  You can also
download them by hand from CPAN.  There is alot of good documenation on
this at the CPAN site: www.cpan.org.

Don't worry about the smart thing, Unicies have a different way of
looking at problems than other OSes.  Once you pick up this approach to
problem solving, you'll be able to figure out alot of these on your own.
