Updating the kernal (KFC anyone)

The updated kernel is available from RedHat, all ready to go.

Using the up2date command (from the command line, as root) is the easiest way
to bring your box up to date with all of the patches.

You will have to register with RedHat for this service but it is free for only
one box.

I just did a RedHat 7.1 box remotely (It is several miles away from me) about
5 minutes ago. I used a remote ssh (secure shell) connection to give me a
command line on the remote box to do the upgrades and reboot the box.

Start with the up2date command, it will tell you to run rhn_register if the
box hasn't been set up for the RedHatNetwork. Run that command and follow the
bouncing ball.

There are a number of people on this list that are more familiar with RedHat
than I am...
