Double Letters when typing

I have a co-working with Redhat 7.3 loaded on a Toshiba Satellite Pro Laptop.
When he types in a command window, sometimes two letters will be typed for a single keypress.
It doesn't happen every time and there is no pattern as to any particular letter that repeats.

Any ideas.  Is there a keyboard setting that must be configured.  During the install he left the keyboard selection at 
105 Generic keyboard.
