Setup DNS server

Hi folks:

What do I need to start setup my own DNS server at
co-location? 

1. Do I need to have multiple boxes for primary,
secondary and cache DNS servers? 
2. What DNS Server software do I use?
3. Is there any web program (PHP) that can update the
DNS server at real time? 
4. I want to do something similar to www.dynu.com, but
I will allow people to use their own domain. 
5. Do I need to register the server at WorldNic.com? 
6. What do I need to know?

Any suggestion will be great. Thanks!
