I think you're right. I was mistaken about Unison, I thought it
monitored files. FAM or dmon are probably your best bet right now. I
don't know if dmon is still valid, but it has the advantage over FAM
that it's already in the kernel. Though if it's not many files you're
monitoring, it probably isn't worth changing what you've got.
