Nic setup

What version Linux are you using?  My Red Hat 7.2 recognized the 3c509 right
off the bat during install.

Can someone give me the steps to adding a 3c509 to a linux box? The 3c509
card is an isa card.
Also, are the steps different for a PCI card?
