newbie upgrade questions

I am running Mandrake 7.2, and I would like to upgrade
to one of the newer versions of Mandrake.  I am not
sure how to do this.  Can I simply get an upgrade and
upgrade it, or do I have to do a complete reinstall of
the entire system.

I have the same question about Apache.  I have Apache
1.3.14, and would like to upgrade it to 1.3.23.  

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
