I stand undecided on the database. A few of us are starting something like
that for consulting anyway...

SPAM, regardless of the cause, is *BAD*!!! We should not mass-email anyone.

If the database project gets done we will have plenty of advertising via the
web site and normal discussion on the mailing lists. No need to SPAM people.

We would also be able to gently use the announce list.
