The Nvidia drivers for Linux are very nice. Tom's hardware has shown that
they are faster than their windows counterparts. Of course Loki is down the
toilet but their games still run well. Many games, like Quake 3 and the
upcoming Neverwinter Nights, have a native linux code base and run very
quick. Of course game performance is largely influenced by your video card
and available RAM. TransGaming has DirectX implemented on Linux but games
running under their DirectX implementation lose quite a bit a frame rate
relative to their performance under windows. It is getting better every day
however. I have played Sim City 3K and Quake 3 on my Linux box and
thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

How good is linux for games?
Linux has a rep for running more efficiently on older hardware than W*.
Is there a website that lists games available to linux and minimal hardware
needed for them?
