I hate to be mean, but I would appreciate it if comments like this were kept 
off of the list.  It's not that I don't respect your right to such an 
opinion, but I believe it hurts any cause we care to put forth 
(Installfest, Maricopa meeting, etc.) to have such opinions expressed on 
this list.

What you are saying goes against what 95% of the people believe without 
giving any reason why beyond the fact that you are "not a business".  It is 
only a very small minority that isn't willing to exchange money in return 
for goods and services.  Although it would be nice if there was no 
artificial scarcity (as exists with software), people who work full-time on 
the software you mention are forced to charge based on the fact that there 
are basic requirements for living that are not in infinite supply.  The 
system has worked for centuries, and, as such, many people get upset when 
you don't play by the rules.  I think (and hope) I speak for many when I 
say that this is not a group that is willing to attract that kind of 
attention.

While I am on the subject, I would request that you double-check your 
phrasing in the future.  You may think that some of us are paranoid, and 
that the issue with the Maricopa county's business practices is "shit", but 
that doesn't mean you have to express it as such.
