File name classifications (need answer ASAP thanx)

These usually only show up if you're using the -F option to the ls
command.  In my .bashrc, I have:

alias ls='ls -F --color'

I think the combination of the -F and --color makes it much easier to
quickly identify things when I'm poking around.
