Debian Install Newbie Tips

You can use modconf to load modules.  Generally they stick from kernel to 
kernel if the new kernel supports them.  For example if i configure say an 
ne (ethernet module) in 2.2 and apt-get install a 2.4 kernel.  It keeps 
the ne loaded.  I hope this makes sense.

Hmm this could be sticky.  I would be leary.  I dont have any SMP machines 
so Im not sure.  Let me see if a Debian Monkey is around....
