Mandrake 8.2 Install help on 486

Well I know that another distro will work on it. I got Slackware 8 on it.
But I don't want to have to go through all of the configuration that that
requires to get it working the way I want it to. That's why I want to know
if someone knows how to change the default kernel on the mandrake install
CD. It should be as simple (unless its compressed) as finding the kernel and
replacing it and reburning the CD-- I would think anyways...

Anyone else have anything to add?
