Lucas,
	Have you had any luck so far with trying to connect to the GNU server? Also, 
I would take a look at the mirrors again - one would deduce that some of the 
traffic from last nite could be the updating of the mirror sites with the new 
code. 
	As far as XEmacs goes, it looks like XEmacs as a whole is almost a 
completely separate project from the original Emacs effort. Their website 
also doesn't seem to discuss the new version at all, leaving me to think 
maybe they haven't done anything in correlation with the new Emacs version 
yet. 

But keep us updated - I find your posts invaluable to the list :)
