This will work fine...unless you're on a multiuser system. It is
exceedingly likely that your text editor won't do file locking with
the passwd and related commands. So, if you have a system that you're
the only person on, you're in downtown. Otherwise...are you in and
out of the file fast enough that another user of the system won't be
typing passwd, chfn or any of that?
Hence my naming of 'vipw'...it locks it properly...afaik.
