Having Problems

Does anyone have experiance with installing the Oracle Client on a 
RedHat 7.1 linux machine?  I've installed it before and it went smooth. 
I followed the instructions at

But this time when I went to run the installer it keeps giving me the 
following message:

Initializing Java Virtual Machine from 
../stage/Components/oracle.swd.jre/1.1.8/1/DataFiles/Expanded/linux/bin/jre. 
Please wait...
map failed

I installed Netscape 6 with  all the options including Java 2. Would 
that be giveing this weird behavior? If so does anyone know how to 
*cleanly* unistall Netscape 6?
