need Debian help

Some X configuration tools leave out font paths. Make sure you are including
the misc fonts in your config.

I'm trying to get debian install... i'm running into problems with the
xserver everytime I go to start it, i get the Fatal server error: could not
open default font 'fixed'

and suggestions would be totally appreciated...
